"Please just get your cars off the street in the winter when there's snow forecast are happening," Porter said, emphasizing both driver and plow-operator safety.
He described typical plow operations — an initial pass to open the main travel lane followed by later curb-to-curb work — and asked residents not to shovel or blow snow back into the road after it has been plowed. Porter also urged clearing sidewalks for pedestrians and reminded homeowners to plan to prevent frozen pipes as temperatures fall.
