The Collinsville Independent School District Board of Trustees opened a public hearing on Sept. 15 on a proposed tax rate of $0.7552 per $100 valuation for maintenance and operations and $0.38 per $100 for debt service, a combined $1.1352 per $100.
A presenter who said they had prepared a spreadsheet compared the district’s 2024 certified totals with 2025 figures, reporting a 2.9% increase in property values (from $358,000,000 to $369,000,000). The speaker noted the debt-service tax rate drop from 40.5¢ to 38¢ and said in dollars that shift equates to a decrease of “almost $50,000” in revenue. The presenter clarified maintenance and operations revenue would be affected by state-determined formulas if M&O rates changed.
Board Chair closed the public hearing at 7:04 p.m.; no vote on the tax rate was recorded during the public-comment portion. The board will consider the public input and the certified values as it proceeds through any formal adoption steps at future meetings.
