The Independent School District No. 191 Board of Education on Nov. 15 adopted a resolution canvassing the Nov. 5 general election and declared Rachael Mikkelsen, Annemarie Anderson and Anna Werb as the three winning candidates for four-year school board terms. The Board resolution lists vote totals from the Abstract and Return of Votes Cast: Rachael Mikkelsen 15,546; Annemarie Anderson 14,630; Anna Werb 12,359; Christopher Peach 11,001; write-ins 425.
Member Chester moved the canvass resolution and Member Mursal seconded; the motion carried with Chester, Hume, Miller, Mursal and Werb voting in favor. The board also adopted a separate resolution authorizing the Board Chair and the Clerk to execute Certificates of Election to the elected candidates once the period for contesting the election has passed and required campaign financial reports under Minnesota Statutes Chapter 211A have been filed. Member Werb introduced the certificate-resolution; Member Hume seconded it and the board voted to adopt it unanimously.
The Clerk was directed to deliver certificates of election personally or by certified mail and to enclose forms of acceptance of office and oath of office. The actions complete the district’s formal canvass and certification steps; no additional debate or amendments were recorded in the meeting minutes.
