The Board of Education voted 6–0 to ratify the professional negotiated agreement with NEA Shawnee Mission, effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Superintendent Schumacher thanked district and NEA negotiating teams and described the package as increasing the base salary by 2.1% and producing total compensation increases in a range that staff materials described as roughly 2.1%–4.54% depending on placement and group.
The board proceeded to approve additional personnel items on the consent/regular agenda: classified salary schedules, the school psychologist schedule, the parent-as-teachers agreement and administrative contracts for 2026–27. Each of these items was presented as aligned to the district's intent to remain competitive in the regional labor market; all votes were unanimous (6–0).
