The Town Board approved budget modifications at its March 19 meeting to cover a new dumpster fee and landfill ticket purchases and to pay for highway shop improvements. Resolution #7 debited Appropriated Fund Balance (A599) and credited A8160.4 Garbage Contractual $2,940.50, A5132.2 Highway Shop Equipment $21,000 for garage doors/roof over fuel tanks/LED lighting, and A3510.4 Dog Control Contractual $1,008.50. Holly Chase moved the resolution and Daniel Gee seconded; the roll call vote carried unanimously.
Separately, the board authorized the Town Clerk to begin selling county landfill tickets starting April 1, 2025. The clerk would purchase a pad of 150 tickets at a cost of $2,887.50; sold at $20 per ticket this yields about $0.75 per ticket to the town. The board also approved switching to a 4-yard dumpster through Thorpe’s Disposal for an additional $54 for the remainder of 2025 and a recurring cost of $33 per month ($396 annually). The board noted the Town Clerk and Supervisor currently handle Town Hall garbage but will use the new dumpster going forward.
