Town honors Otho Shealy on his 100th birthday

"A resolution honoring and celebrating the 100th birthday of mister Otho Shealy for his lifetime of service to his country, his community, his family, and the town of Batesburg, Leesville," staff read aloud.
Shealy thanked the council and reflected on his military service in occupied Germany and his civic work. "I just wanna thank you for what you have done...what you are doing to the health of town that we we can be proud of," he told the council.
Council and attendees applauded the recognition; the mayor and council extended congratulations and best wishes for continued health and happiness.
