The Academy ISD Board discussed possible renovations to John Glover Stadium on June 25, reviewing survey results and viewing photos of recently completed extensive restroom renovations on both home and visitor sides. Board members raised concerns about band stands, crowding, lighting and parking; Trustee Dana White pressed lighting and parking needs while Trustee Alex Bass said he would not support immediate spending on new stands.
Trustees requested a double gate be added on the visitor side to ease pedestrian and band access. District staff, represented by Brian Nolen, said turf replacement would likely be needed in about one year and agreed to obtain quotes and timelines. The board decided to table additional renovation spending and any turf replacement decision until the October board meeting.
