At the Jan. 27 meeting the board recorded numerous donations and grants supporting district programs and student activities.
Donations included mobility scooters from the VFW to Laker Robotics; mittens, gloves and scarves from the Damien Society to DLMS; Aldi gift cards to the Laker Cupboard; tool donations for Laker Robotics; and $240 from Lake Region Electric Trust to the DLHS prom student activity account. Grants reported in the minutes included $2,000 from the Minneapolis Foundation for Native American instructional books at DLMS, $2,000 from Creating Community Consulting for an ALC PCN project, and $12,000 from West Central Initiative for DLHS early childhood curriculum. The minutes list other cash donations and in‑kind gifts to school activity accounts and centers.
Board members accepted the donation and grant reports for the record; these items were recorded in the minutes but do not show a separate vote beyond the consent/meeting record. The donations provide material support for extracurricular teams, pantry services and classroom materials across district schools.
