CDD discusses encroachment, park maintenance and pond algae treatment
Summary
Board members reviewed operations items including a homeowner’s pool/cage encroachment at Pond 16, a temporary irrigation dam at Hole 11, bench placement for Paleo Park, and plans to request proposals to treat algae in Ponds 7, 5 and 11.
During the operations update the board addressed multiple maintenance items. Assistant Secretary Carol Vaughan said the front property and Paleo Park "look great" and requested installation of another bench; HPCA Grounds Superintendent Tim Gatz will meet Vaughan to determine placement. Chair Kathleen Lonergan reported sending a photo of a white temporary structure on Hole 11; Tim Gatz said the temporary dam was built to address an irrigation break.
Michael Walsh reported a homeowner-installed pool and cage at Pond 16 that appears to encroach on the EDRA and cause bank damage; staff said homeowners are responsible for the damage and that they will monitor the area and address the issue when construction is complete. Separately, Mr. Hurley and Chuck Adams discussed algae on Ponds 7, 5 and 11 and Adams said he will request a proposal from a contractor experienced in treating irrigation holding ponds.
