Council members question time, cost of train station transfer and extra attorney work

Councilman Adam Boudreau told the board he was concerned about how long the Train Station transfer took and about additional fees beyond normal attorney services. He said the extra time and expense were notable on top of work the town already pays Attorney Kirk Gagnier to provide.
Councilman Tim Larkin said discussions in executive session with Town Attorney Kirk Gagnier addressed why the closing was delayed, and that the "transfer of the Train Station from Next Stop Tupper Lake to the Town of Tupper Lake is not in his contract." Councilman Boudreau asked whether approvals or extra work had been authorized outside the attorney’s contract; Supervisor Dattola answered that some approvals were made outside the attorney contract. The board did not record any additional contractual action or a vote on the train station item at this meeting.
