At its March 26 special meeting, the Town of Tupper Lake discussed a potential shared-services arrangement with the Village in which the Town would sand some village streets during plowing runs while the Village would mow Town properties in summer.
Village Trustee Eric Shaheen told the board that the Village discussion focused on having “the Town sand while plowing during early-morning operations,” which would “free up a Village employee to assist with snow removal within the Village.” Highway Superintendent William Dechene cautioned that the Town has limited capacity: “this will cause further delays in getting to town roads as the Town only has 3 trucks plowing.” Board members agreed the idea merits continued conversation between the two boards given staffing shortages on both sides. No formal agreement or vote was taken.
