Clifton ISD board approves proposed library materials under new SB 13 rules

Clifton ISD's Board of Trustees voted Oct. 20 to approve the district's posted list of proposed library materials after Superintendent Andy Ball noted the requirements of Senate Bill 13. Ball told the board that donated or procured materials must be available for public review at least 30 days before final approval and that the board must act in open session to accept or reject such lists.
The motion to approve the list was made by Trustee Josh Ritzmann and seconded by Trustee Heather Willmann; the board recorded a 5–0 vote with two trustees absent. The district maintains the list of proposed materials on its website at https://www.cliftonisd.org/page/school-libraries and the approval was recorded in the public minutes.
