Town accepts transfer of Train Station Depot from Next Stop! Tupper Lake

The Town of Tupper Lake voted unanimously to accept transfer of the Train Station Depot building at 37 Depot St. from Next Stop! Tupper Lake, Inc., approving Resolution #24/2026 after an Acting Supreme Court order and an affirmation of no objection from the New York State Attorney General.
Councilman Adam Boudreau said the transfer is timed to support upcoming grant-funded projects associated with the station but cautioned construction may begin in spring 2027 due to the current season. The resolution records the court order and bill of sale and directs town officials to take possession of the assets.
Board members also approved a contract with Darwin Designs to fabricate wayfinding signage for the Train Station project; the quoted range exceeded the original $23,500 budget and is estimated at $28,500–$35,500, to be paid from the grant contingency. Councilman Boudreau said Darwin Designs produced existing village wayfinding and recommended retaining them for aesthetic continuity.
The board recorded no dissent; the motion to accept the transfer and to proceed with signage work carried 4–0 (Supervisor Rick Dattola absent).
