"I move that the Abernathy Board of Trustees approve the hiring of Glen Hill as Superintendent of Abernathy ISD for the 2025-2028 school years," Matt Miller moved; the motion was seconded by Manuel Adames Jr. and passed with six yeas and one absence (David Carver).
At the same meeting the board approved a superintendent contract covering the 2025-2026, 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 contract years that will begin Aug. 1, 2025. The contract approval was moved by Mike Magallanes, seconded by Ty Horsford, and recorded as passed 6–0 with one absence. The board did not discuss specific dollar amounts or contract terms in the recorded transcript.
Board President Marcus Sullivan presided over the vote. The hiring and contract provide the district with an identified superintendent to begin the 2025–2026 school year; the contract's effective date is Aug. 1, 2025.
