At the Jan. 6 meeting the Detroit Lakes Public Schools board approved several administrative and financial designations for 2025.
By motion the board designated Bremer Bank, Midwest Bank, the Minnesota Liquid Asset Fund and Ehlers/Pershing as official depositories for K‑12 accounts. The board also designated Rupp, Anderson, Squires & Waldspurger, P.A. as legal counsel and named the Detroit Lakes Record/Tribune as the district's official school publication. All motions were recorded as carrying unanimously.
Separately, the board approved compensation levels for board members: $200.00 per day for regular monthly meetings, special board meetings and work sessions, and $60.00 per day for conventions, seminars, committee meetings, Bridge sessions or events where a board member represents the district. The motion to establish the salary and per‑diem structure was moved by Sanford Nelson and seconded by Michael Walther, and the minutes record the motion 'carried unanimously.'
