Staff member (S2) reported that City Council discussed landscape requirements and water-wise front-yard ideas and that the council may follow up with a work session that could lead to changes the Planning Commission would review.
"During the last City Council meeting, we talked about landscape requirements and water wise, And it sounds like it's going to be part of a work session," Staff member (S2) said, and noted the commission should be prepared for potential code language to be routed back for review. Staff also said staff will send details about catalytic projects and a possible joint session on active transportation in February.
On other business, staff confirmed Mill Creek has agreed to a summer site visit so commissioners can see firsthand how a peer city handled similar zoning and neighborhood compatibility issues. Commissioners discussed logistics and possible ways to make the trip a field review rather than a regular meeting to maximize learning.
