The Lakeland School System board voted to establish a facilities planning committee to support the district’s five-year strategic facilities work. The committee will include Keith Acton as the board liaison, Tristan Gaitley Sweat (chief of finance), parent representative Carl Helton, the three school principals, facilities manager Jeremy Hayes and Tammy Wilson, director of strategic programs.
Dr. Horrell described the committee as a multi-stakeholder group intended to represent schools and community interests while developing facility priorities tied to the district’s strategic plan. The motion to approve the committee membership was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
