At the trustees meeting, Library Director Ryan said the library is trying to schedule a vendor to do an LED retrofit in August and is attempting to limit public disruption by arranging work for early mornings when staff are present but the building is less used. "We are gonna try to get the vendor in here early in the morning when we're not in the building so that they can work on some of the staff areas first," Ryan said.
Ryan also reported the children's room already uses LED fixtures because it was renovated after prior flooding, and he confirmed the library's annual carpet cleaning has been scheduled for a Saturday in August so the work can proceed while the building is closed to the public. Trustees asked for notification to patrons about short-term area closures where technicians need access to shelving.
