Fire chief reports successful pump tests but hose failures; ladder truck out for repairs and rescue boat remains out of service

Fire Chief Royce Cole reported to trustees that the department's annual pump testing was completed and all vehicles passed, while hose testing identified failures.
"We only had one length each of 3", 1 3/4" and 5" hose fail," Cole said. He added that the ladder truck sustained damage in the Main Street structure fire and "will be out of service from October 28th to be repaired in Altamont, New York." Cole also reported that a boat repaired for use in Santa Clara failed testing when tested in Plattsburgh and is not yet back in service.
Trustees accepted the August fire report by unanimous vote. The minutes show scheduled repairs and testing follow‑ups will be handled by the department and reported back to the board as needed.
