Committee recommends Manistee County opt out of PA 152, retains 11% employee premium share

Administrator/Controller Lisa Sagala told the committee that PA 152 requires employers with publicly funded health plans to opt in or out under the law's contribution limits. Historically, Manistee County has opted out and required employees to contribute to their premium.
The committee moved to recommend that Manistee County opt out of PA 152 for FY 2026/27 for all union employees, non‑union employees, court staff and elected officials and to keep the employee contribution at 11%. The motion was moved by Shayne Machen and seconded by Eric Gustad; the minutes record "Ayes: All; Absent: Goodman. Motion Carried."
