Board recommends SuperRoofs for sheriff's office roof; estimates $400,000 and asks budget board for funding

Staff reported that interviews and scoring of proposals led the evaluation team to recommend awarding the sheriff's office roof replacement to SuperRoofs as the most qualified firm and that the project was design-build. John Keith and procurement staff said cost to complete would require approximately $400,000, which includes a contingency for potential change orders. Staff asked the recommending body to identify funding (account "2010") so the item could be taken to the budget board and then to the Board of County Commissioners for final action.
"Based upon the evaluation of those score sheets and the comments provided by the evaluators, we're recommending award to SuperRoofs as the most qualified firm," the procurement presenter said. John Keith estimated the cost, saying, "We'll need to set aside approximately $400,000 to complete the work." A committee member noted available capital funds of $1,716,897.41 and staff said the next step would be taking the recommendation to the BOCC and the budget board to identify the funding transfer.
A member moved to proceed with the vendor recommendation and to use 2010 funding to pay for the work; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Staff said budget-board and BOCC action would follow to effect the award and funding transfer.
