Neoga council awards cemetery pillar repairs and approves new brick sign plan

The Neoga City Council corrected earlier figures Sept. 9 and voted to award repairs at Neoga Memorial Cemetery and to proceed with a new brick sign design.
City Clerk Brenda Evans said the correct estimates for pillar repairs were $2,357.92 and $840 (she apologized for an earlier misstatement). Following that clarification, Commissioner Schabbing moved to award the pillar repairs to Illini Restoration Inc. for $840; Commissioner Williams seconded and the motion passed 3-0. Later the council approved a separate motion, moved by Commissioner Williams and seconded by Commissioner Schabbing, to have Illini Restoration construct a brick sign for $5,800. Evans said the sign design is being produced by the high school and drawings should be available soon.
