The Neoga City Council voted unanimously Aug. 26 to purchase the web-based Locis 8 accounting system after City Clerk Brenda Evans said the city's current software will not be supported in the future.
Evans told the council that Locis 7 currently handles the city's accounting, payroll and utility billing and "recommended that the city purchase the new web-based program of Locis 8." Commissioner Edwards moved to approve the purchase; Commissioner Williams seconded and the motion carried 5-0. City officials did not disclose the contract price in the meeting minutes.
