Neoga awards CDBG administration to Milano & Grunloh and approves resolution; resident asks for sidewalk extension

The council awarded administration of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) infrastructure grant to Milano & Grunloh, Engineers, LLC, after Milano & Grunloh was the only applicant. Commissioner Letizia moved to award the contract and Commissioner Schabbing seconded; the motion passed 5-0. The council then approved Resolution #09-11-24, a resolution of support for the CDBG grant, by a 5-0 vote.
During the ITEP sidewalk discussion at East 6th and Wilson Avenue, resident Rick Luckey told the council he "feels that the sidewalk should extend across the ditch on this corner so pedestrians on the other side of the street can get to the sidewalk without having to walk through a ditch." Engineer Lee Beckman responded that the grant regulated the path of the sidewalk and "suggested that the city could apply for phase 2 of the grant in 2026." The minutes show no immediate change to the current ITEP alignment; the engineer noted the city could pursue additional grant funding for a later phase.
