The Neoga City Council voted 5-0 on Nov. 25 to decommission a 2008 Dodge Charger so the vehicle can be used in a high-school automotive project. Police Chief Andy Schabbing told the council insurance would allow students to work on the car if they use safety equipment and operate under the guidance of school personnel, and that grant administrators would send a confirming letter allowing the vehicle to be taken out of service.
"Chief Schabbing informed the council that he checked on the city’s liability to have the 2008 Dodge Charger decommissioned by students at the high school," Police Chief Andy Schabbing told the council. Commissioner Edwards made the motion to decommission the car and Commissioner Williams seconded; all five members voted in favor.
