Engineer Lee Beckman told the council that sewer plant forcemain improvements are complete and the contractor has requested reimbursement from Rural Development. He said the CDAP Water Grant bid opening named Kieffer Bros. Construction as the low bidder at $916,664.40 and that a preconstruction meeting will be scheduled within roughly 30 days.
Superintendent Durbin said the sewer grant application requires televising of lines in the target area and that one quote received was "just under $2 per foot" to video the lines. Commissioner Schabbing moved — and Commissioner Williams seconded — to televis e the sewers on 7th, 11th, and 12th Streets with the work not to exceed $15,000; the motion passed 4-0.
On sidewalk work, the council approved ITEP invoice #30692 for M&G in the amount of $16,286.85 and approved another ITEP invoice for completed work totaling $237,230.60. The council also accepted ITEP Change Order #1, which decreased tree removal costs by $1,138.90. The council reviewed an estimate for concrete driveway approaches on 7th Street but took no action, citing overall expense.
The minutes also note that a Lead Service Line Inventory grant has been awarded and the city has submitted a Rebuild Illinois/RISE grant application that Beckman believes advanced to the next round of applicants.
