The Village of New Berlin board agreed at a special meeting Aug. 30 to require that at least two trustees participate in all future hiring interviews and that trustees be given at least five working days to review job descriptions before they are released. The change was recorded immediately after the hiring motion in the meeting minutes.
Mayor Krall was assigned to send out the list of committees to trustees as part of the administrative follow-up. The board recorded the procedural changes as general agreement; no ordinance, formal resolution, or detailed implementation timeline was included in the minutes, so departments will likely need to coordinate the specifics for applying the new expectations.
