Donna Elliott Sprouse distributed materials summarizing recently adopted state legislation on accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and provided a questionnaire for commissioners to complete before the next meeting. The questionnaire is intended to help staff and the Commission develop local ADU regulations, including whether ADUs should be permitted in zoning districts beyond Residential Single Family.
Staff asked commissioners to review the materials and the included policy questions to ensure the county's ADU regulations reflect state requirements and local policy preferences. The Commission did not take action at the July 7 meeting but flagged the ADU topic for continued consideration at the Aug. 4 meeting.
