The Bennet City Council voted to award the city’s maintenance building contract to Sterup Construction LLC for $90,000, contingent on Sterup providing engineered drawings as requested by city staff.
Utility Superintendent Zach Fergus presented five bids for the maintenance building specifications: Sterup Construction LLC, $90,000.00; Vasa Construction, $122,279.00; Morton Buildings, $124,218.00; Ebbers Construction, $125,526.01; Elevate Construction LLC, $129,722.04. After discussion of contract requirements, Dan Zieg moved to award the bid to Sterup Construction LLC pending provision of engineered drawings; Jesse Schmidt seconded. The roll call vote was YES: Schmidt, Simmons, Zieg, Buck; the motion carried.
Council members noted the need for finalized contract language and engineering drawings before signing. The award is conditional; the contract will not be finalized until the requested engineering documentation is provided and reviewed by staff and counsel.
