Bennet council approves consent agenda, grants local access and curb-cut waivers

The Bennet City Council approved its consent agenda at the March 9, 2026 regular meeting, adopting minutes from Feb. 9, approving claims for payment, and confirming RESOLUTION 2026-3.1 authorizing a Block Party for BEDA’s Firefly Festival.
The council also approved several property-access waivers requested during the meeting. A curb-cut waiver for Brandon Garvin—limited to 12 feet in width with a paved approach—was approved (motion carried). The council granted a limited waiver to allow vehicular access on Saltillo Road for maintenance of the shared well serving Lot 7 in the Hunter’s Ridge Addition; the Saltillo motion passed with Council Members Simmons, Buck and Schmidt voting yes and Council Member Zieg recorded as abstaining due to a conflict.
