Bennet council approves Quincy right‑of‑way project, requires new plat and owner signoffs

Mayor Ryan Cheney introduced the Quincy Right‑of‑Way project Jan. 19 and City Attorney David Solheim recommended creating a new plat that all property owners sign to show agreement to the proposed lot changes. Solheim told the council the city will also need confirmation from Lancaster County regarding the plat and changes.
Councilman Pete Simmons moved to approve the project and Jesse Schmidt seconded; the motion passed with Schmidt, Simmons and Zieg voting YES and Councilman Josh Buck recorded an abstention with conflict. The council’s approval included direction to produce the new plat and secure property‑owner signatures and county confirmation before further action.
