The Montecito Water District Board on Jan. 27 approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Montecito Sanitary District and Summerland Sanitary District to coordinate and collaborate on advancing special district reorganization. Director Kenneth Coates introduced the item and General Manager Nicholas Turner presented the draft; the Board directed edits to staff and legal counsel before voting to approve the MOU.
The Board received comments from Diantha Glaser, Business Manager at Summerland Sanitary District, during discussion. "Director Coates moved to approve the Memorandum of Understanding between the Montecito Water District, Montecito Sanitary District, and Summerland Sanitary District with edits as directed by the Board." The motion was seconded by Director Hayman and carried on a roll call vote with all five directors recorded in favor when the vote occurred in open session.
