The chair called the Montecito Sanitary District governing board to order for its Feb. 25, 2026 meeting at 2:12 p.m., then moved quickly to adjourn after determining the board lacked a quorum. "Therefore, we do not have a quorum," the chair said, adding that the board "cannot have a meeting."
During roll call the chair announced that Director Barrett was present and that Directors Johnson and Neuquist were absent; the chair also stated that Director Ullman was attending remotely but that the remote presence would not count toward a quorum. With fewer than a quorum of members available, the chair said the board would not conduct business at the session.
The chair proposed reconvening on Monday and, after discussing times, said the board would aim to meet Monday at 10:00 a.m. "Monday at 10," the chair said. The chair said staff would reach out to the directors to confirm availability before the reconvened meeting. No motions, votes, presentations, or public comments were taken at the session because it was adjourned for lack of quorum.
