Head Start hires eight AmeriCorps tutors, hosts Creek Nation delegation

Verna Thompson, Head Start director, told the council the program recently hired eight AmeriCorps tutors to support early childhood classrooms and credited partners for their assistance.
"In fact, to piggyback on what he said about the AmeriCorps tutors, we have hired 8. We're so proud of them," Thompson said, thanking partners Brooklyn Blossom and Amber Manor. She also reported that the Head Start building has been in use for a year and that visitors from Creek Nation were on site for a program showcase.
Thompson said the program will schedule an FDC-class graduation and is on track to meet its December objectives related to that training cohort.
