Godoukie Corps outlines AmeriCorps 'aging in place' grant, youth/elder leadership fund and 102 households helped by operations crew

Sean Crittendon told the committee the organization received an AmeriCorps grant designed to help elders stay in place by supporting companionship, food security and community engagement, and that a director position for the grant has been posted.
"This budget's gonna be called aging in place, helping our elders," Crittendon said, describing the scope of the AmeriCorps grant and the plan to place a director to implement activities. He also said the Kadugee Core Youth And Elder Community Leadership Fund '20 for 20' applications are due Sept. 21 and that the operations road crew recorded 102 families served in July.
Crittendon asked council members to share program information with local schools and districts to help recruit volunteers and participants; the committee did not take formal action during the report.
