Committee members used the Health Services and Public Health reports to highlight recent outreach efforts. The chair and councilors thanked staff for participation at Head Start Roundup events and back-to-school bashes where the public-health teams offered well-child checkups, hearing and vision screens, dental screens and vaccinations.
Lisa Pivick said the department continues its back-to-school events and sports camps and that staff can coordinate school-based clinics on request. Councilor Lisa Hall praised distribution of Farmers Market cards to elders and asked about deadlines; Pivick said those cards must be used by the end of October. Committee members also noted upcoming community runs sponsored by the health department.
