Transportation chief outlines paving, sidewalk and water projects including Summerfield Hollow completion

Michael Lynn of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure presented a multi-project update to the committee, describing work on roads, sidewalks and water systems across the service area.
Lynn said utility relocation is nearing completion on the Chewy North/River Road project and that a milling and paving operation is scheduled to start next week on Bridal Burchett Road west of Cherokee County. On pedestrian improvements, he said Phase 2 of the US 62 pedestrian pathway/sidewalk is under way. "The paving is complete on that. We are, waiting on the contractor to finish up the shouldering and striping and signs on that," Lynn said about Summerfield Hollow.
On water infrastructure, Lynn reported a water treatment plant nearing completion at Burnt Cabin and two storage tanks under construction in the Cherry Tree Rural Water District at Henderson and Sanders Flat, and he described a water line extension in Collinsville. Council members thanked Lynn and staff for the workload and results; one councilor confirmed Sunfield/Summerfield Hollow Road is striped and functioning as expected for drivers and school traffic.
The committee did not take formal action on the report but expressed appreciation to staff for completing local projects.
