Committee debates causes of siltation and whether dredging is worsening beach erosion

That's a result, in my opinion, of having dredged so far up into the harbor and created a shelf, if you will." Other members said river sediment, dam operation and shoreline armoring all likely play parts and recommended hiring a consultant and collecting sounding data to make a technical case to the Army Corps.
The committee agreed to retain involvement with the Harbor Park/dam-removal team and to request information from project consultants; members emphasized the need to coordinate timing so private dredges and park reconstruction do not work at cross-purposes. Jeremy volunteered to reach out to the Harbor Park team and library trustees to start that coordination.
