Council approves MOU with Whatcom Community Foundation to manage donations for Bender Fields structures

The council approved an MOU with the Whatcom Community Foundation to handle accounting and disbursement of donor funds for two new structures at Bender Fields that will add concessions, restrooms, storage and announcing booths. The Parks Committee had reviewed and approved the fundraising plans and the Parks Director and Finance Director recommended the MOU to the council.
Mr. Connor Herman has volunteered to oversee the project as the general contractor and community donors led by Daniel Vander Kooi have solicited the Foundation's assistance. The council approved the MOU and authorized the Mayor to sign the agreement on a 4-0 vote.
