The Borough of Fort Lee authorized a series of public-works contracts at its Feb. 19 meeting. D.L.S. Contracting was awarded three separate low-bid contracts for local street improvements: Tremont Avenue ($201,405.70), Summit Avenue ($68,473.85) and 13th Street ($102,725.35). The council recorded certifications by the chief financial officer that funds are available in identified account numbers for each project.
The council also authorized Edwin Avenue sewer repairs through the Bergen County cooperative purchasing system to J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $525,072.17, with the borough’s CFO certifying availability of funds from capital account C-04-55-2407-301. The resolutions cite N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq. and cooperative purchasing provisions that allow award under the county contract.
Council materials list competing bids for the D.L.S. contracts and state that D.L.S. was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Officials said these awards are intended to expedite needed local infrastructure repairs ahead of the borough’s busy event season.
