Council approved a bid for CIT to perform sewer trunk-line inspections, dye testing and to simulate rainfall for infiltration and inflow (I&I) analysis at 17 identified locations. Staff explained the testing will be coupled with televising lines and dye tracing to find connections or defects; the consultant estimated about 40 hours to complete the scope.
Council approved the bid (bid #2) for $18,840 after staff and a contractor representative described the process: "We estimated 40 hours. So about a week," one contractor representative said. Staff said CIT will provide documentation and rehabilitation recommendations and can provide quotes for corrective work if defects are found.
