The Trumbull Town Council adopted amended year-end supplemental appropriations on Aug. 3, approving $770,469 in transfers from Fund Balance to cover snow removal overtime and supplies, tree warden expenses and increased interest on bonds.
The package was originally presented at $829,409 in supplemental requests. Council voted to reduce the BOE interest-on-bonds line by $58,940, producing a new total of $770,469. Finance Director Maria Pires explained the increased bond interest resulted from additional borrowing as projects were completed ahead of schedule; she also described the contingency fund’s intended uses. A roll call recorded the measure adopted 17-2; the two 'Nay' votes were by Councilman Carl Massaro and Tony Scinto.
The supplemental schedules list transfers from Fund Balance to snow-removal salaries and program supplies, tree warden program and emergency services, and BOE and town interest-on-bonds accounts. The council waived the Finance Committee reading and moved the amendment by unanimous consent before the recorded roll-call vote.
