Trumbull authorizes First Selectman to administer state early voting grant

The Trumbull Town Council unanimously authorized First Selectman Vicki A. Tesero to sign the application and manage a Connecticut Secretary of the State grant to support early voting operations.
The full resolution cites Public Act 25-168 and states the town will receive $24,725.09. The funding may be used for regular and overtime pay for office and election workers with access to the Centralized Voter Registration System, additional pay for early-voting workers who complete training on new tabulators, regular and overtime pay for police officers to escort ballots and supplies to and from the library early-voting site, dual-language voter information postcards translated into Spanish with a state-approved translator, and updates to the town’s early voting webpages and FAQs in English and Spanish. The council adopted the resolution as emergency legislation by unanimous consent.
"That Vicki A. Tesoro, First Selectman, is hereby authorized as the individual authorized to sign the grant application to the Connecticut Secretary of the State, and all subsequent contracts, amendments, reports and related documents in order to administer and implement the early voting program," the resolution states.
The resolution requires towns to report expenditures within 30 days of fully expending funds and no later than June 30, 2027. Council minutes show the Finance Committee met on July 27, 2026, and voted unanimously to support the application.
