Public Works Director Michael Jaramillo and Assistant Public Works Director Brittany Armijo presented the draft 2028–2032 Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP) at the June 11 meeting, explaining the ICIP’s role in identifying and prioritizing projects for grant and funding opportunities over a five-year horizon.
Staff highlighted project priorities including the Los Lunas West Loop, park improvement projects and a proposed membrane bioreactor (MBR II) wastewater treatment facility expansion identified in long-range utility planning to accommodate future growth and aging infrastructure. Council did not take action on the ICIP; staff encouraged councilors to review project rankings and provide feedback ahead of a future resolution and vote.
