Council confirms library, DRB and committee appointments after executive session
Summary
Following an executive session on appointments and contracts, the council unanimously appointed multiple residents to boards: Corey Riemensberger to the Brownell Library trustees (to 2027 annual meeting) and several appointments to the Development Review Board, Recreation Committee and Capital Review Committee.
After an executive session to discuss appointments and contractual matters, the Essex Junction City Council returned to make and record several appointments.
Councilor Bethany moved to appoint Corey Riemensberger to fill a vacant Brownell Library trustees seat until the 2027 annual meeting; the motion carried. The council also appointed Amanda Svensson as a Development Review Board member and John Alden as an alternate (three‑year term ending 06/30/2029), Susie McGovern to the Recreation Committee for a two‑year term ending 06/30/2028, and Amber Tibbo as the council representative to the Capital Review Committee for a three‑year term ending 06/30/2029.
The council recorded the appointments and stated staff will follow up with onboarding information for the new appointees.
