The board discussed the CID communications budget and website maintenance after staff said ImageWorks — the site's contractor — had been several months behind on invoices this year. Staff said the ongoing contract had been mostly limited to monthly updates and that they had not billed the CID for meaningful amounts while the project was inactive. The proposed 2027 consulting line initially was set at $25,000, but board members discussed padding that line to support a more substantial communications effort if the corridor project moves forward.
One board member moved to increase the communications/consulting line up toward $100,000 to ensure capacity for more frequent updates, photography and social media work during construction; the motion carried on a voice vote. Members noted that a formal resolution and appropriation will be required at a future meeting before funds are spent.
“All I've done basically is see to the updates, the minimal updates to the website and attend these meetings,” said the contract holder (speaker 8) describing current work under contract. Staff agreed to provide invoice histories and to route communications requests through Anne and Maria for posting.
