Roxbury committee clarifies Open Meeting Law boundaries and committee process

Heather Holter reminded the committee of Open Meeting Law (OML) rules: informal homework among a couple of members is not a subcommittee, but any charged group that gathers information or is assigned work becomes an advisory subcommittee subject to OML requirements.
Judy Lusk raised concerns about internal process and flagged Tom Frazier’s frustration, noting ‘‘even though they do not always agree, she feels he is very valuable to the committee.’’ The committee reaffirmed use of a "parking lot" to capture off-agenda items and Kristen Getler reminded members they are welcome to propose agenda items for future meetings.
