The board approved a Utilities Committee recommendation to purchase a Line Tamer product to keep utility lines clear at a cost not to exceed $3,000 (motion moved by Trustee Cindy Morris and seconded by Trustee Sue Spalding; motion carried). The minutes record: “Motion: To approve the purchase of Line Tamer product for up to $3,000 to keep lines clear.”
Staff reported the village’s overdue water-bill balance has been reduced by over $4,000 and that door-hangar shut-off notices were scheduled for Dec. 19, 2024. The South Sangamon Water Commission has asked New Berlin to support extending a water-rate reduction; the board intends to consider a resolution on that request in the January 2025 meeting. The minutes also note that New Berlin’s water testing will move from a Peoria lab to a Springfield lab.
