Assistant Superintendent Zepure Hacopian briefed the board on tentative contract changes reached between the Montebello Unified School District and the Montebello Teachers Association during 2025‑26 negotiations. The board was told the revised contract term runs July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028, with unilateral reopeners for 2026‑27 and 2027‑28; Article XII (Wages) and Article VIII (Class Size) will open automatically.
Hacopian reported that the MTA general membership ratified the tentative agreements by a 91.57% rate of ballots cast. The motion to ratify the contract changes was made by Carlos Cerdan and seconded by Elizabeth Cabrera; the board voted 4 ayes, 0 noes (Ms. Uribe absent) to approve the ratification.
