Skatepark concrete repairs to begin Jan. 13; parking reconfiguration planned

PRAXIS consultant Brian Grant told the Facilities and Safety Committee that Gillis Construction is scheduled to start repairs to crumbling concrete at Creekside Skatepark on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025.
Park Supervisor Leslie Hofelich raised the skatepark condition during the reports section. The Safety Committee also ordered 'Parallel Parking Only' signs for the skatepark and plans to reconfigure the street parking area to eliminate the need for vehicles to back onto Bohemian Highway, improving safety for park users and drivers.
Marina McTaggart said the committee will follow up on repair progress and that additional photos requested by OGALS for grant documentation will be taken now that rains have eased.
